Well, something funny happened on the way to the unconditional love well, and I wanted to share that with you first. Next week I’ll finish the topic as promised!

I’ve recently completed this amazing ten-week process called The Presence Process, available in book form and authored by Michael Brown. You can check it out on my website by clicking here. After completing the process, I’ve brought so much of my attention to the present moment and released most of the negative charge of past events (Thank you, Michael Brown!)

Now that I had done all this internal heavy lifting, I was ready for my big payoff. While desperately trying to have no expectations of what said payoff would look like, I secretly drafted scenarios of what a present-focused life would bring me. Boundless peace and joy, unconditional love for one and all, a lifetime of helping people by doing exactly what I want and loving it – the list went on and on. I was ready.

So while I was making plans for all of these amazing things to become my daily life experience, I started noticing this background buzzing in my subconscious, a wee bit of energy that keep humming and buzzing and running though my circuits. At first I told myself it was just residual energy from the process and that it would drop out as my transition to present-focused daily living took hold. Yeah, that’s it. That made sense.

Well, clearly the Presence Process didn’t lead to me completely disable my tremendous skill at rationalizing or Spiritualizing away my feelings. I say this because that buzzing was indeed a feeling, one that I did not want to see or acknowledge was still active in me. After focusing in on this charge, I came up with a word and feeling I sooo did not want to find – anxiety. Cue the sinister music!

Yep, anxiety was running as a background program, and again, I told myself that it would just go away in time as I eased into a more connected, present way of being. I now trusted Spirit to support and guide me after I put my core abandonment issues to rest - in particular, my distrust of and anger towards God. To make a long story short, my Soul was nursing some pretty deep wounds from many lifetimes of not feeling supported in fulfilling its quest to fully express itself. I healed these wounds and released that energy during my journey through The Presence Process. All better now – or so I thought.

Days went by and the anxiety energy got stronger, which totally confused me because I kept going into that feeling and doing the work to integrate and release it. Knowing it was bigger than me, I finally opened myself up and asked for guidance as to what was behind this and what I could do to release it and move on. The answer came loud and clear: Stop Waiting.

Zing! It hit me like a lightning bolt (and luckily didn’t give me big hair :-P ) I WAS waiting. Even though I had shifted my attention into the present and was fully experiencing the physical world in front of me, I had catapulted my expectations into the future and was now sitting in the present waiting for them to become ‘reality’. Suddenly the framework of my futuristic life started to reveal itself to me, and it was all based upon trusting that Spirit would bring to me in Divine time all those things I wanted. People would start calling and booking Soul sessions with me, like-minded friends would magically appear and become part of my social community, a romantic partner that matched my vibration would show up and love me unconditionally – the list goes on and on.

But hold on - even if I was waiting, how could that be the source of my anxiety? I couldn’t see how trusting Spirit to bring me in the Divine right time all that fits me could be the cause of this feeling within me. In the past, I had tried forcing everything I wanted to appear according to MY timeline, and what I ended up with for the most part were imported knock-offs instead of the genuine articles I desired. They just didn’t feel right, and I vowed to let Spirit handle things from now on. I had learned my lesson.

Confused and a bit frustrated, I headed out for a hike because connecting with nature and the harmony it demonstrates always seems to help me remember the Oneness perspective of being. Sure enough, the birds, bees and trees didn’t let me down. They never do, they couldn’t. They just laugh along with me when I realize what human folly I’ve followed this time!

Remember the big payoff I was waiting for, the boundless peace and joy, unconditional love for one and all and a lifetime of connected service to others? Well, as it turns out, THAT was the source of my anxiety. While I was supposedly patiently waiting for Spirit to bring me all those events I mentioned (clients, friends, a partner) at the Divine right time so I could experience the big payoff in my daily life, a small part of me was still worried that it would take a lot longer than I wanted to materialize or quite possibly not even happen in this lifetime. I felt like I was marking time in my life, watching intently for signs that things were about to happen and even doing small little frantic things to encourage them to do so. MY timeline again, so it seemed.

The Truth is that the present moment already holds all those qualities that I was seeking and so much more, and yet I blinded myself to this fact by reverting to the cause-and-effect logical expectation model I’d be programmed with that said certain events would lead to the desired payoffs and nothing else. Does any of this sound familiar to you as well? We are all taught to work hard and be patient to ‘get’ all that we want. And yet the underlying Truth is that if we just stood still in the present moment, we would discover all the qualities that make up those ‘things’ that we want are already available to us right now. They are nothing we need to find in the outside world but instead Divine essences within us that we only need to stop and connect with.

Now that I know the Truth, there will be no more waiting game for me. I no longer need Spirit or anyone/anything to make something happen outside of me in order for me to find those qualities I desire. I held the key to my own freedom all along, and it was right here under my nose in the present moment. Consider this lock opened!

Consider Developing Compassion

Compassion. For most of my life, I had no idea what the true meaning of that word was. I thought it was just a pretty way of saying pity. You know, pity is when you look at someone else and think or say “Oh that poor person. They have it so badly. I feel sorry for them.” Pity was easy for me to understand and to hand out in any given situation, both to others and certainly to myself. Our society reinforces the “poor me” or “poor you” perspective all the time through the media, be it news reports, books, movies or plays. If you don’t have “this” or “that” happens to you, you are described as being unfortunate, deprived or a victim.

Nope, compassion has nothing to do with pity. In fact, compassion is the complete opposite energy of pity. Pity is based upon seeing ourselves as separate from each other, and using that separation mentality to judge yourself or others against some standard. The energy of compassion is to see yourself as the same as everyone else, connected at the Soul level, and then to feel love for another Soul on the journey it has chosen to take in this lifetime. Doing so brings you into Oneness, that Divine feeling of being far bigger than that single body you see in the mirror each day, of belonging to the entire spectrum of All That Is. Living in this state of being puts you squarely in the Flow of Life, and you experience the synchronicity and ease of abundance that accompanies it.

It is no wonder that I didn’t understand compassion because just like most all of us, I didn’t receive the unconditional love that I so yearned for as a child. That left me with a disconnected perspective of love, feeling it had to come from outside myself instead of flowing from my Divine center within. Compassion is all about the unconditional love, which is the main reason why most of us find it difficult to truly express. You can’t give what you don’t have, and that means if you haven’t done the work to find the unconditional love for yourself, then you’ll never be able to share it with others in any form, including compassion.

All hope is not lost when it comes to developing compassion, however. Since compassion is part of your Divine nature, that essence within you that runs also through everyone and everything in our world, it is still available for you to connect with. You were hardwired with compassion at the Soul level, so no amount of social programming could destroy it. Obscure it, yes. Destroy it, never. As long as you are here on the planet, compassion is a gift within you that is ready to be applied and lived at any moment.

So if we all have it at our core and there is nothing we can do to destroy it, then why aren’t we all living from a place of compassion on a daily basis? Doing so would certainly make life a lot more enjoyable for everyone, that’s for sure. Well, here’s where the unconditional love thing comes home to roost. To feel and live from compassion towards others requires that you first find compassion for yourself, which translates into giving yourself unconditional love. This means you loving yourself no matter how you look, what you say, what you do or how you feel, and that you continue loving yourself no matter what someone else says, does or feels. The type of love is unshakable, endless and complete.

Not surprising, most of us are lost when it comes to giving unconditional love to ourselves as we haven’t had the experiences in life to help us understand it. In my next post, I’ll delve into why that is and how you can overcome your barriers to finding this level of love for yourself.

Welcome To My Blog!

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by and spending some quality time with me on my new blog, Living from Your Soul's Wisdom.

Most of us have questioned at some point why we are here on Earth, what our purpose for being is. Through my life experiences and those of my clients, I've been shown that we each share a common purpose - to live life as our True Self, the authentic You that is a reflection of your Soul. It is a simple purpose, and as such, you may find this fact disappointing or unacceptable on some level. Most of us imagine that there is some grand meaning behind us choosing to come and live this lifetime on our plant. We each would like to think of ourselves as being here to do something special. That couldn't be further from the Truth.

The Truth is you didn't come here to do, you came here to be - to be the real You. And how do you exist like that? By aligning your way of being with your Soul, that Source of infinite and eternal Wisdom and the place from which inspiration emerges. It means moving from your Ego-based version of self in your head to your Divine-based version of Self in your heart.

Simply by being the authentic You in each moment and bringing You to what every single moment of your life holds, you fulfill your purpose, the same purpose we all have. What happens during and as a result of each of those moments along your journey is where the unique part comes in and is the reason there are 6.5 billion of us on the planet instead of just one. Let me explain.

Your Soul is an indivisible part of the Divine whole, and at the same time, it represents one sparkling facet of this incredible gem. Each facet is unique for all time, with its own distinct energy and vibration. When you bring your True Self to a moment, a situation, a person, you allow this unique Divine energy that is You to flow, and the result is you putting your piece of the Divine puzzle in place. You are exactly what that moment, situation or person needed, your Soul's unique energy and vibration. It all fits perfectly. You didn't have to do anything. You just had to be You.

So now you see why shedding your false self and living from your True Self is so important to the quality of your life experience. When you align your life with your Soul and its infinite Wisdom, you can't help but bring that energy and vibration to every moment of your existence, simply by being. You and everyone around you experiences the benefits from you living connected to your Divine Center and in the Flow. It is effortless.

If you would like assistance on your journey of aligning with your Soul and your True Self, I would be happy to help. I offer Soul Readings to find out what your Soul is trying to help you with right now, ongoing Soul Coaching to support you creating a life from the inside out with your Soul as the blueprint, and Q&A with Your Soul sessions to help you get answers to all those burning questions you have about life and the process of living from your Soul. All sessions are offered by telephone or in person. Visit my website www.yoursoulwisdom.com for more details.

On this blog, I plan to share a new post with you at least weekly, if not more frequently. Each post will contain information and insights that my own Soul has inspired me to put out into the world to connect with others. My suggestion for reading each post is to absorb and put into practice those things that resonate right now with that deeper part of you. On the flip side, if something doesn't seem relevant to you, just put it in your spiritual backpack for possible use at a later time. I promise it won't weigh you down!

Thanks again for joining me on this journey, and let the fun begin!
